She Builds Too Hawai'i was started by Jacqueline Canos. As a child, she was always inspired, by TLC programs such as Trading Spaces and American Restoration, to decorate and reinvent spaces in her home. However, when she would look to the men in her life for help, the projects either took too long or she felt like a burden to them. She realized she would need to take action into her own hands. After receiving her degree as a Carpentry Technician, the story of "She Builds Too" began.

Why "She Builds Too Hawai'i"?

The name "She Builds Too Hawai'i" came from Jacqueline thinking about who she was as a woman. She is a daughter, sister, friend, but also an artist, creator, cook, and so much more. So, what is more perfect than - She Builds Too! After joining a community of women-owned small businesses and seeing the empowerment from all the leaders in the group she wanted to commit her work to this movement. Empowering women to pursue their passions, no matter how unorthodox while uplifting and supporting those women currently on this journey as well.

Mission

She Builds Too Hawai'i's mission is to create and deliver quality locally made products. Jacqueline's goal is to take your design ideas and make those dream art pieces come to life. She enjoys creating pieces that are not only functional but also timeless statements of beauty for your home.

Now that "She Builds Too Hawai'i" is a full-time business, Jacqueline receives a lot of help from her boyfriend and her fur babies! While Jacqueline is building all of your pieces, her boyfriend is helping to keep her workspace clean and he also does some slaving, oh i mean sanding for her as well. The couple are huge animal lovers. They have several rescues, 4 dogs and 6 cats currently to be exact! (3 passed away). Each of her pieces is made with love (and a little bit of dog fur too). So don't be surprised when you open your box and find a little piece of her family waiting just for you.
